Hulluf Weldesilassie Kahsay

Senior Advisor

Mr. Hulluf Weldesilassie Kahsay is a Senior Advisor for the Peace Process Support Team at Inclusive Peace.

His engagement centrally focuses on providing targeted strategic context-specific support to the Peace Process Support team in leveraging networks to strengthen the Inclusive Peace’s engagements in and around Ethiopia by fostering collaborative relationships for jointly impacting on peace. His work focuses on how to enhance the role of faith-based actors in peace processes.

Previously, Mr. Hulluf worked as a Senior Program Manager at the Peace and Development Centre (PDC) – now the Ethiopian Institute of Peace (EIP). Besides, he worked as the Deputy Secretary General for the Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia (IRCE) where he acquired experience in peace strategy development and facilitation of inter-ethnic and inter-religious dialogues in Ethiopia. Furthermore, he headed the Operations Department at the Adigrat Diocesan Catholic Secretariat (ADCS) thus obtaining administrative and strategic experience.

Hulluf was born and grew up in Irob district in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. He obtained an MA degree in Social Ministry – with a specialisation in Management and a BA in Social Ministry from Tangaza University College. He is currently writing his MA Thesis in Counselling Psychology at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) – Nairobi. He is proficient in Saho, Tigrigna, Amharic, and English languages. He understands the Afar language
