Thea Gutschke holds an MA in International Administration and Conflict Management from the University of Konstanz, Germany. In her thesis, which involved several months of field research, Thea examined Colombia’s reparations program as part of the country’s ongoing peace process. She developed a strong academic focus on peace and conflict studies while working for different universities and research institutions, such as the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research. During her studies, she also gained practical experience with peace and transition processes, e.g. through field work with UNDP and the International Center for Transitional Justice. Her interests include women's participation in peace processes, transitional justice mechanisms, peace agreement implementation, and links between peace and development.
